Aired on ABC from 1966 - 1971. I remember watching it after school. In the last several years, I've been able to record almost every episode from the Sci-Fi Channel. (Luckily before they started having those damn pop-up ads.) I laugh at the bloopers, but they don't really diminsh my enjoyment. Yes, some of it was silly, such as Adam, the Frankenstein's Monster rip-off.
"There have been a lot of imitators, but they didn't last because the writers think it was a horror story. It's not. It's a love story." - Dan Curtis.
Barnabas and Josette, Barnabas and Angelique, parallel time, changing time periods, Rev. Trask, Vickie on trial for witchcraft, Carolyn's insanity, Elizabeth's fear of being buried alive. (She wanted to be able to ring a bell from inside her coffin, which has actual historic precedent ), Ben Stokes, Dr. Hoffman, Willie Loomis, Daphne Harridge, (Portrayed by Kate Jackson).
I didn't much like it before Barnabas came along.
The first remake aired on NBC from Jan. 1991 - March 1991. It moved a lot faster than the original. Just last year, there were rumors of a second remake.
Oh, yes. The bloopers. I remember a scene in a cemetary which had the obligatory fog. Then there was a scene in the old house and some fog was in the house.
But as for actors accidentaly stepping on each other's lines, THAT'S REALISTIC! People accidentaly interrupt each other in conversation all the time.
I hope the new one is better than the second one.
