Starting yesterday, every time I come here, I have to log in.

What gives?

Anyone else having this problem?

Yep, I have to log in to but I don't worry about it. I just do it.

It's another problem that didn't exist until recently. Every time they fix one thing, something else screws up.

I will be logged in, go to a blog site and get kicked off. Then I have to log in again. I don't know, doesn't happen everyday but it's a bit annoying when it does!

they were working on the forums earlier. probably an unforeseen consequence of a change they made. Prolly cookie trouble.

Was thinking same, and really, I don't want to look the gift horse we have here in the mouth.  I'm sure they'll work it out and get things right over time.  Lets just be patient and give 'em a chance.

... unless of course someone wants to volunteer to pay the bills for all this bandwidth and resource usage

I have found the forums very fast but the blog side extremely slow to load. So long as I am able to get on and blog and take part i am happy....slow fast - no odds.

I have had this problem too but since it tends to alleviate other issues (menu option disappearing and such) I don't really mind.

I've found that the only thing I have to log in for is to create a blog. The forums still see me as logged in.

Today if I make a comment and then click submit I get a runtime error and have to back page - copy what I wrote then go to home page then reopen the thread and try to repost and usually the second attempt it submits. a bit of a funny one for me today.

I just went to a page that said my other new article no longer exists. I'm really getting sick of this.

I've had to log in seven times today. Sometimes I log in, and when the next screen appears it shows me as not logged in and I have to lather, rinse and repeat.

It's a bit aggrivating seeing as I haven't had to log in for....well, months.

Oh well. It happens from time to time. At least JU is up and we can all blog...as I recall, there was a time this past summer when GalCiv II was released and JU was down for over a week.

I'm trying to be thankful for small mercies.

Hey everyone. I'm hoping some of you can help track down the source of the login problems that you're experiencing. When I first came to this post, I was already logged in so I didnt see any issues. I logged out and back in without any trouble and went over to joeuser and logged in without any trouble.

I logged out of both sites; forums.joeuser.com and joeuser.com.
Deleted cookies with 'joeuser' and 'stardock' in the names, just to be sure that I was logged out.
Revisited joeuser.com. Sure enough, was logged out.
Revisited forums.joeuser.com. Was logged out there also.
Went back to joeuser.com and logged in.
Went to forums.joeuser.com and it saw me logged in (from the login at joeuser.com)

Logged out of both and deleted cookies for both again (the steps above).
Logged into the forums.joeuser.com site successfully.
Went to joeuser.com, was not logged in.
Logged in successfully at joeuser.com.
Went back to the forums to make sure I was logged in still, and was logged in automatically.

Once logged into both websites (forums.joeuser.com and joeuser.com) I closed the browser, revisited both websites and was still logged into both.

As you can see, I havent been able to reproduce any login troubles, and I've been working at it! Please help me out by posting your steps to reproducing your login woes. If you havent cleared your cookeis for joeuser and stardock, please do. Also please post the browser that you are using while seeing the issues. I used IE6 for my processes. Together, hopefully we can isolate and fix the login problems that a few of you are experiencing.

Andrew:

I just now deleted cookies using the link at the bottom of the forum, went to my blog site, was not logged in. I logged in, closed the browser, reopened it, came to my blog site and was not logged in.

I'm using IE7.
