The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance and Carbine Williams

I haven't seen either of those. I don't like a lot of westerns.

Both are life stories.
Liberty Valance is a western - but really a love story - sorry to be mushy.
Carbine Williams was set in the 20's - 30's - about the man that invented the carbine rifle.
Jimmy Stewart was one of my favorites.
If you like swing music - he did the Glenn Miller Story - lots of good music (set the 30's & 40's until Millers' death Christmas of 1944).

Rear Window - for suspense
The Stratton Story - for baseball
Stratigic Air Command - Stewart was an Army Air Corp pilot during WW2 & a General in the Air Force reserve

I love "Harvey"
Pooka - that's what my Grandma called our belly buttons - something from Irish fairy tales.

Carbine Williams is not a western.  It is early 20th century poor south.

No Highway in the Sky (1951).
He plays an absent-minded airplane engineer - the movie is about metal fatigue.
This movie was made a few years before the problems with the British Comet - which were from metal fatigue.
Strangely prophetic.

I was trying to think of that title. I like that one too.
