Elizabeth Montgomery is the daughter of Robert Montgomery but has gone on to achieve success in show business in her own right. She is the star of Screen Gems' top-rated "Bewitched" comedy series.

In "Bewitched", Elizabeth plays the role of Samantha, a young witch who has magical powers which constantly amaze her mortal husband, Darrin. In this role, Elizabeth has been nominated for a TV Emmy five times.

Elizabeth was born in Los Angeles on April 15. She attended Westlake School for Girls and Spencer School in New York. It was a surprise to her father when she enrolled in the Academy of Dramatic Arts after leaving Spencer.

After three years of extensive work, she obtained her first role in a television show "Top Secret", in which by coincidence her father starred. He didn't learn his daughter was in the cast until rehearsals had started.

Her first Broadway play "Late Love", won her a Theater World Award. Since then, Elizabeth has been in many television shows, among them "Studio One", "Kraft Theater", "G. E. Theater", "Alcoa Theater", and "Armstrong Circle Theater". She has also starred in the following motion pictures: "Johnny Cool", "The Court Martial of Billy Mitchell", and "Who's Been Sleeping In My Bed".

Her principal hobby is painting, which she does in any free moment. Her artistic flair is evident in the show itself, for Elizabeth has designed many of the outfits she wears on "Bewitched", and there is a "Bewitched" line of coats which she created. She also collects antiques.

In 1963 she married William Asher, who is the producer-director of "Bewitched". Elizabeth and Bill are the parents of two sons, Willy, 7, and Robert, 6, and a daughter Rebecca Elizabeth, born June 17, 1969.

I mostly remember her in the episode of the original Twilight Zone, "Two" and the title role in "The Legend of Lizzie Borden" and of course "Bewitched."

I grew up wishing I was Darin.

You never heard?

If your timing is correct, I was working 16 hour days installing and networking a 25k student school system.  That year, I would not have heard if Clinton had died!

But you wouldn't want Endora for a mother-in-law, would you?

NO!  She was the best evil mother-in-law ever! !
